"Grafiti art always intrests me because anyone can do as long as you have spray paint and don't get caught doing it. To me, this type of street art is kind of a middle finger to the mainstream art establishment. It's very punk and DIY in some ways. These people (Mostly minorities and poor people) want to expressive themselves artistically, but don't either do their environment, lack of funding or support from the gatekeepy art galleries. So they turn to graffiti as a way for their art to be seen. It's seems to very community orientated, it doesn't have rules regarding what or what no to paint, and it has a lot of personality behind it. Overall, I would like for my art to reflect the self-taught nature behind so much graffiti art while taking influence from other mediums as well."
